Acceptance of Terms
By using the Stoat for Android application or adding the Stoatcord Bot to your Discord server ("the Services"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
Description of Services
Stoat for Android
Stoat for Android is an open-source native Android client for the Stoat/Revolt chat platform. It provides access to your Stoat account, servers, channels, and messaging features.
Stoatcord Bot
The Stoatcord Bot is a Discord application that provides:
- Channel migration: Import Discord server channel structures into a Stoat server.
- Message bridging: Relay messages in real time between linked Discord and Stoat channels.
- Slash commands: Server management commands for linking, unlinking, and managing bridges.
User Responsibilities
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
- You must have the necessary permissions (Manage Server or equivalent) to add the bot to a Discord server or configure bridging on a Stoat server.
- You must comply with both Discord's Terms of Service and the Revolt/Stoat Acceptable Use Policy when using the bridging features.
- You must not use the Services for any unlawful purpose or to transmit harmful, abusive, or infringing content.
Open Source
Stoat for Android is open-source software. The source code is available at github.com/tribixbite/stoatally under the project's license terms. Contributions are welcome per the project's contributing guidelines.
Availability
The Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uptime, availability, or uninterrupted operation. The bot may be taken offline for maintenance or updates without notice.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- The Services are provided without warranty of any kind, express or implied.
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Services.
- We are not responsible for message loss, delivery failures, or data corruption during bridging operations.
- Total liability for any claim related to the Services shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Services (which is zero, as the Services are free).
Message Bridging Disclaimer
Messages relayed between Discord and Stoat are transmitted as-is. We do not modify message content beyond necessary format conversion (e.g., markdown syntax differences). We are not responsible for:
- Content posted by users on either platform.
- Messages that fail to relay due to rate limits, API outages, or network issues.
- Formatting differences between platforms.
Bot Removal
You may remove the Stoatcord Bot from your Discord server at any time by kicking or banning it. Removal stops all bridging and data access immediately. Channel link mappings associated with your server will become inactive.
Account Termination
We reserve the right to block access to the Services for any user or server that violates these terms, abuses the bot, or engages in behavior harmful to other users or the platform.
Changes to Terms
We may modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. Material changes will be noted in the "Last Updated" date.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith communication before pursuing other remedies.
